We look after rivers and creeks in the Port Phillip and Westernport area. We also help local councils to ensure the rivers and creeks in their areas are clean.

We are also responsible for 1277 kilometres of stormwater drains in the Port Phillip and Westernport area.

| EPA Victoria | Regulator. Set water quality objectives, and manage discharges and enforcement. |
| Local councils | Manage local drainage or stormwater systems, and community education |
| Parks Victoria | Parks manager in charge of recreation, leisure, tourism and water transport for the Yarra, and litter in Lower Yarra |
| Port of Melbourne Corporation | Manage land and water in lower reaches of Yarra around the port |
| Port Phillip and Westernport Catchment Management Authority | Co-ordinate natural resources and catchment management |
| Yarra Valley Water | Manage local sewerage systems and small sewage treatment plants in the Yarra catchment |
