Ways to be involved in the community
- Find a local Friends group at the Victorian Environment Friends Network. Friends groups work together to help conserve and protect our natural environment.
- Help protect your local creek or river by monitoring with Waterwatch Melbourne.
- Apply for a grant through the Melbourne Water and Port Phillip and Westernport grants program. Each year, we offer grants to support the work done by community groups and councils to improve the health of our land and water resources in the Port Phillip and Westernport region.
- Book the Baan stormwater education model for a community event. This interactive model will draw the crowds at your event.
- Are you a Girl Guide? Why not get your Healthy Waterways badge?
- Join the Melbourne Water Frog Census Program. The program relies on community members to help monitor frog species in the Port Philip and Westernport region. The continued presence of frogs in a river, creek or wetland is a great indicator of river health.
