Eastern Treatment Plant Tours
A walking tour of the 1000 hectare plant takes approximately 1.5 hours. Teachers are provided with education kits including fact sheets and work sheets - all linked to CSF II/VCE Study Designs.
Students will learn:
- how sewage is treated using state of the art technology
- how ammonia is being reduced to improve water recycling opportunities
- how methane gas and sludge are recycled at the plant
- how biogas will be used to generate electricity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Cost of tour
Standard Tour Fees
| Prep to Year 6 students, seniors | $4.50 per head |
| Years 7-10 students | $5.00 per head |
| VCE and tertiary students, others | $6.00 per head |
| Group | Minimum fee of $125 |
Combination day tours (ie combined tours of multiple sites or tours combined with educational activities) can also be arranged. Please note, different fees apply to combination tours.
Special interest tours for international delegations, senior citizens and bird watchers can also be arranged.
A minimum fee of $125 per group applies.
